Joel Duggan is the cartoonist behind the online comic Starcrossed, host and producer of The Citadel Cafe podcast, and co-host and producer on Comics Coast to Coast on the FrogPants podcast network. In 2012, he self-published his first book, Starcrossed: Volume One a collection of his comics.

Born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Joel works for out of his home studio in Dartmouth.

Joel started his artistic career in television animation in the early 2000s. In 2006 he took the leap to work independently as a cartoonist, illustrator and designer. In pursuit of his life long love of comic strips and began publishing Starcrossed online in 2009. Just a few years later, through the support of friends and readers, Starcrossed: Volume One was published in 2012.

In 2011 Joel was invited to join the crew on Comics Coast to Coast, and has since had the opportunity to interview some of the funniest cartoonists online. Bitten by the podcasting bug, 2011 also saw the birth of his own show The Citadel Cafe, a weekly casual conversation about geeky pop culture and entertainment. In 2012, The Citadel Cafe received a second place nod for Best Podcast in the annual Readers Choice Awards in Halifax’s The Coast.
